Radio and music play a big role in everyday life. Music is found in commercials, movies, television and many other forms of media. I listen to lots of different types of music everyday but most of the time instead of listening to the radio I listen to my ipod or music from my computer. The reason I don’t always listen to the radio is because if I use my ipod or computer I can choose exactly what song or what type of music I want to hear. I normally listen to the radio when I’m driving. There are certain advantages and disadvantages to the radio. I don’t like all the commercials that are run on the radio and sometime popular songs are played too often. I do like, however, that it is a random selection and I can tune into many different kinds of stations. If I do listen to the radio it’s usually KDWB or K102.
I don’t listen to news radio, but do sometimes listen to a morning talk show on KDWB, which isn’t quite news radio. I don’t usually listen to news radio because I find it somewhat boring and I would rather listen to music.
Satellite radio can be a good thing when it comes to not wanting to hear commercials and there is a larger selection of music on satellite radio. However, if I had to pay for satellite radio I would much rather deal with commercials and repetitive songs for free. I would listen to my ipod before I paid for satellite radio especially now that there are devices to plug in an ipod to your car so you can listen to your own music through the radio.
